a bit
about me

I n much of my work I set out to combine the traditional and the abstract.
I approach my painting with an instinctive desire to fill the canvas with expressive patterns using shape and colour in an uninhibited and vibrant way.

My exuberant style of painting draws from a number of influences: the great painters such as Henri Matisse, Paul Klee and Wassily Kandinsky, my own teachers – latterly Stephen Rose – but also the textures and colours of the landscapes of Zimbabwe and the Netherlands where I grew up.

I studied at Kingston University and since then have made painting an integral part of my life, successfully weaving it into commitments of family life. I live in Kent with my husband and have 3 children.

I continue to develop my own unique, energetic style of painting and have exhibited in London and throughout the South East.
I am always available for commissions.

A series of my Chicken Prints is hanging in Soho House – Chicken Shop restaurant, St John’s Wood, London.

Purling London commissioned me to hand paint a chess set for their Art Chess series, sold at Harrods.

I was the featured artist in Kent Life Magazine (December 2011).
